Why Take This Course
Learn practical techniques that you can apply to different kinds of funding opportunities.
You have many choices for grant writing courses, so why take this one? In this course, we've tried to address the most frustrating aspects of the grant writing training we've taken over the years, such as expensive courses that offer overly simplified content that isn't scalable across different types of donors and proposals. Our goal with Get Funded is to offer affordable training on proposal writing best practices, not generic advice or tips that apply only to the simplest grant applications for U.S.-based donors.
Most grant writers have experience writing one kind of grant proposal — such as applications for small grants to private foundations OR proposals for federal agencies and multilaterals. We've done it all, and in this course, we've distilled the universally applicable tips and strategies for planning and writing proposals of all kinds.
The course has been structured around the typical proposal process and standard proposal template. Start at the beginning of the course and work your way through each lesson if you want to experience the full proposal cycle, from preliminary steps all the way through to the submission process.
If you have specific questions, such as how to structure a management and staffing section, design a proposal graphic, or conduct a compliance review, you can head directly to the relevant lesson. The lessons are connected, but not interdependent, so you can dip in and out of the course when you need help with specific topics.
In this course, we're going to teach you a step-by-step process that you can use to successfully plan, write, edit, review, and submit a compliant, responsive proposal. If you are new to grant writing or have been submitting proposals without success, this course will give you the knowledge and skills to prepare high-quality proposals.
The course includes:
2+ hours of instructional videos in addition to written content.
Customizable templates that you can download and customize to meet your needs.
Resource lists and checklists.
Discussion feature that allows participants to post questions to the course moderators and other participants.
