Welcome!

Welcome to Finding Funding for Projects Based in Africa. In this 5-part course, you'll learn about potential funding sources, gain insight into international philanthropy, and receive tips for writing better grant proposals. Designed to teach essential concepts, the course is intended for those new to or less experienced in grant seeking.

This course complements the content found on our website, www.peakproposals.com.  If you haven't already, we recommend exploring our website before you start the course. We also suggest you take advantage of our free course, Getting Started: The Basics of  Finding and Applying for Grants, before you begin this course. Getting Started covers fundamental concepts for pursuing grant funding that we do not cover in this course, such as tools for tracking potential funders and strategies for researching funders.

Course Content

The course consists of five chapters:

  • Chapter 1: Mastering the Basics of Grant Seeking

  • Chapter 2: Where & How to Look for Potential Funders

  • Chapter 3: Diversifying Your Organization's Funding

  • Chapter 4: Preparing for Success

  • Chapter 5: Next Steps & Resources

Each chapter comprises three or more lessons. To navigate the course, click on the chapter headings and modules on the left-hand side of your screen. The four main chapters end with an assignment and a quiz to help you apply what you have just learned.

In addition to the chapters, the course includes downloadable resource lists and access to a template library.
